In 1875, the village changed its name to Dickson City in honor of Thomas Dickson of the Dickson Manufacturing Company. The city began to grow quickly throughout the 1880s as the coal mining industry started to flourish. Throughout most of its history, the city was a coal mining center, but in recent decades has come to be a robust retail center. It currently has a population of 6,070 people and around 1,300 families. At Ken Pollock Mitsubishi, we are proud to serve such a historic town and community.
